Don’t give up on your dreams

Abortion rights are disability rights. Disabled people are already facing their own health problems. Carrying a child can be risky and life threatening for both the mother and child. We already have limited access to health care, tele-health appointments, transportation etc. It’s forcing poverty to a marginalized group who already struggles greatly financially. Disabled people aren’t able to move or travel to another state to have an abortion where they are still legal. Disabled people are more likely to be raped. Forcing someone to carry an unwanted child or a child out of rape from their abuser is inhumane. Black disabled people are at even greater risk. Black women are already the highest for maternal death and poverty rates.

Someone you know and love has had an abortion. ❤️ What is happening right now is sickening. What is with these old white men telling us what to do with our bodies?? ? We have the right to do what we want with our bodies and the right to an abortion.

Disabled not broken

I’ll always be healing and growing. From things I may never discuss or don’t talk about anymore. That doesn’t mean I moved past them and that they aren’t heavy…I’m still healing. Some parts of me will never heal and that’s okay. It has to be.

Your dreams are worth it. You are worth it. That thing you want or want to do but can’t stop thinking about? Don’t give up on it. Your hearts deepest truest desires are worth following. To clarify, I’m not talking about unrealistic dreams. Such as curing yourself of chronic illness etc (I dream of this daily ) I’m talking about that path you want to follow, that poetry that you want to write, that skill you want to learn, that trip you want to take, that life that you want to live. It can happen. First you have to believe in yourself and believe that it is possible. It is never too late to follow your dreams

“Know when it is time to let go” Not everyone or everything is meant to stay. Some people, places, things are temporary. And that’s okay. We are supposed to enjoy and learn from them while they are here. We can’t hold onto them forever. This is something that I’m working on as someone with attachment issues. Letting go and change is difficult. But holding into something that is not meant for you is more hurtful than letting go…

Trying my best not to worry about things I cannot control. We can’t control what happens to us in our lives but we can control how to react to it. Practicing this daily
