Painted Pansy

Four zebras escaped in Washington state near North Bend on April 28th, 2024. 3 of the zebras were caught quickly, but one was "lost in the woods" for nearly a week. The last zebra has already become a local legend and a meme. Here's my homage to the WA zebra!

A currently unidentified species of isopod from Vietnam currently called Merulanella sp. "Scarlet." It may be a morph of Merulanella sp. "Tricolor," as Tricolor individuals appear in captive Scarlet colonies, implying that "Scarlet" coloration may be caused by a recessive gene. This isopod is hand-painted in watercolor!

Elliptorhina javanica, the halloween hissing cockroach, hand-painted in watercolor! They are beautifully striped, emit a hissing sound when they are startled, and are harmless to humans.

Porcellio scaber "Lava" is a beautiful morph caused by a mix of complex phenotypes that cause a wide variety of patterns in a mottled red/orange and black/dark gray color. This isopod is hand-painted in watercolor!
