A July 1941 attempt at establishing a bombardier school at Lowry Field, Colorado. 3 instructor classes with the last graduating 14 March 1941, was replaced by schools at Barksdale Field, Louisiana (moved to Albuquerque) and Ellington Field, Texas to a navigator school.) In June 1942, several classes of cadets were sent for bombardier training at Davis-Monthan Field, Arizona. Bombardier schools of the Gulf Coast Air Corps Training Center and the West Coast Air Corps Training Center included the GCACTC's Big Spring Army Air Force Bombardier School. B-17 Flying Fortress Vintage Bomber Design. The B-17, which first flew in 1935, is our favourite aircraft at 909 Apparel. In fact we're named after the B-17 that inspired this design, the record breaking Nine-O-Nine.

Initially established under Third Air Force in early 1942 as a fighter squadron at Baer Field, Indiana, flying some antisubmarine patrols in the Gulf of Mexico. Deployed to the European Theater of Operations in June 1942 without aircraft as its Curtiss P-40 Warhawks and Bell P-39 Airacobras were deemed unsuitable for use against German aircraft in long-range bomber escort duties. Was re-equipped with RAF Supermarine Spitfire Vs and its pilots and technicians spent a two-month period undergoing intensive training in flying and fighting with RAF pilots in the British aircraft from airfields in southeast England. The squadron flew its first combat mission on 18 August 1942, when it attacked enemy positions in occupied France.

Vintage Signature P-38 Lightning BluePrint Design. The P-38 Lightning is a Twin-Engine, Twin-Boom WWII-Era Fighter Plane. It was the fight fighter to fly faster than 400 mph, and its Speed, Long Range, High Climb Rate and Concentrated Firepower made the 'Fork-Tailed Devil' a truly formidable adversary. The P-38J Depicted here is '23 Skidoo'.

Get this vintage USAAF insignia. Before the official formation of the United States Air Force in 1947 there was the United States Army Air Forces, created in 1941. The service had a series of insignia, this is their latest. Nine months before the creation of the USAF, which retained the design. A white five pointed star on a blue roundel. Added on both sides a lengthwise bar is red, white and blue. The colors are the official Army-Navy Air Craft Color Standards.

This is an exact, and meticulously detailed reproduction of the Historic Air Corps Gunnery School T-Shirt that was worn by Corporal Alexander Le Gerda on the Cover of Life Magazine in July of 1942. This iconic design helped to popularise the Graphic T-Shirt, and was issued to GI's attending the Air Corps Gunnery School in Las Vegas Nevada during WWII.
